Qi’s Homepage
Qi Ma is currently a second-year Phd student at Nankai University, advised by Prof. Deng-Ping Fan. He is affiliated with the Tianjin Key Laboratory of Visual Computing and Intelligent Perception (VCIP), led by Prof. Ming-Ming Cheng. He received his B.Eng. degree in Computer Science from Nankai University in June 2024.
Research Interests
My research focuses on generalizable and self-improving machine learning systems. In particular, I study model behavior from a meso-level perspective, analyzing the intermediate structures and dynamics that emerge during adaptation, and leveraging these insights to guide models toward recursive self-improvement and robust generalization.
I am broadly interested in generalization, machine learning, recursive self-improvement, and interpretable model analysis.
